YOU ARE AN ATTITUDE AWAY FROM HAPPINESS “The greatest discovery of my generation is that man can alter his life simply by altering his attitude of mind”. (James Adams) So true! Life is as we perceive it. Just look around us – happy people – have a positive attitude towards life. It is not the situation; our reaction to it defines our state of mind. Arthur Ashe – a Wimbledon champion – ended up with a serious disease from which he was dying. Some fans asked him why GOD must select him for such a nasty disease. His answer was – “World over five crore children start playing tennis, 50 lakhs learn to play tennis, 50000 can enter the professional circuit. TRUST – A MAJOR CRISIS "Trust is the glue of life. It's the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It's the foundational principle that holds all relationships." ( Stephen Covey) The most crucial element for a lasting healthy relationship is Trust. It is like a fuel to a car. Trust is the foundation on which we build all our relationships. POWER OF CHOICE Holocaust survivor and Psychiatrist Dr Viktor Frankl wrote in his epoch-making book, Man's Search for Meaning – "Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms — to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way." God has been very kind in gifting humans with the power of CHOICE. Every day, consciously or unconsciously, we continue to make small and significant decisions ranging from what to eat to what to wear to WHAT TO BECOME. At every step – we exercise our choice. Attitude is a choice; Happiness is a choice; Optimism is a choice; Kindness is a choice; Giving is a choice; Respect is a choice – Life is nothing but the sum of our CHOICES. Essentially, life is a series of continuous choices we make every day. I am a medical professional. However, I had a choice to go either to IIT or Medicine when I cleared my Prep Examination (I was fortunate to secure good grad...
